Rs500b Balochistan budget to be announced on Friday

Total outlay of the Balochistan budget for the next financial year 2021-22 to be presented on June 18th (Friday) will be Rs500 billion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
In this connection, Balochistan Assembly’s budget session has been convened on June 18th at 4 PM.
Balochistan Minister for Finance Zahoor Buledi will deliver the budget speech after its approval by the provincial cabinet.
Quoting sources in the government, the TV channel reported that there was a proposal to fix non-development expenditures in the budget at Rs350 billion.
The sources further disclosed that a substantial increase in the salaries of government employees had been proposed in the money bill.
Apart from that, they added, several steps were under consideration to augment the province’s revenues.
The sources told 24News TV channel that this year Balochistan Revenue Authority had collected a record Rs12 billion.
They said that this time maximum number of funds had been allocated for the health sector.
Similarly, they added, education, law and order and construction of dams had also been given a priority in the budget.
The provincial government had earmarked over Rs5 billion for the issuance of health cards to people of the province, they disclosed.
Furthermore, they told, four to five thousand vacancies in government departments had also been announced in the document.
Sources informed that substantial amount had been allocated for the newly created divisions and districts of the province.
