Bilawal says Pakistan working to deal with climate change

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Pakistan is working to deal with climate change as the country is facing the issue seriously.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Bilawal along with the minister of Denmark talked to the media after holding a meeting in Islamabad on Thursday.
Bilawal said Pakistan and Denmark are facing climate change and steps to address the challenges of climate change are being taken.
The foreign minister said alternative sources are being brought into the country to meet the energy requirements as a need of the time.
Pertinent to mention here that today, Pakistan's coastal areas are facing a severe threat of a mighty Biparjoy Cyclone while catastrophic floods, droughts, and cyclones have plagued Pakistan in recent years as Pakistan's projected temperature increase is expected to be higher than the global average and the increase in the northern parts of Pakistan is expected to be higher than in the southern parts of the country.
The reports said that the frequency of hot days and hot nights is expected to increase significantly in the country. Due to climate change in Pakistan, the 2010 flood killed 1,600 people and caused around $10 billion in damage. The 2015 Karachi heat wave led to the death of more than 1,200 people.
