TLP-govt parleys underway

The teams of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan and the government held the second parley, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.

Ministers Rana Sanaullah Khan and Ayaz Sadiq represented the government while the delegation of TLP consisted of Dr Shafiq, Ghulam Abbas, Mufti Muhammad Umair, Maulana Ghulam Ghaus Baghdadi and Jeelan Shah.

The two sides agreed on a free and fair trial of blasphemers, the introduction of a special system to remove profane and indecent content from social media, building the capacity of the existing body to stem the spread of anti-Islam content, anti-blasphemy department setup, writing to the US for taking up the matter of Dr Aafia Siddiqui with the US within three days, withdrawal of all the notifications against the TLP and applying the 7 ATA to the accused of 295C.

Moreover, talks about bringing down the prices of petroleum products and other demands are underway.
