Bilawal discusses KP politics, wheat crisis with Governor Kundi, party leaders

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday held separate discussions on the political situation, organisational affairs and public issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during a meeting with PPP provincial leaders and Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.

PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha and Governor Faisal Karim Kundi met Bilawal, while PPP Central Information Secretary Nadeem Afzal Chan and Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon were also present.

According to party sources, Bilawal and Shah Bacha reviewed the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and discussed organisational matters related to the party's activities in the province.

Shah Bacha briefed the PPP chairman on the Youth Convention held in Abbottabad and the party's public outreach campaign in Mansehra.

Bilawal praised the party's organisational performance in both districts, saying PPP workers had performed well in Abbottabad and Mansehra.

During the meeting, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi briefed Bilawal on the wheat shortage crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its impact on the province.

Bilawal expressed concern over the situation and directed the governor to play an active role in addressing the issue.

"Just as you played a role in resolving the CNG issue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, you should also contribute towards resolving the wheat crisis," Bilawal told the governor.

The PPP chairman also instructed Kundi to take up the province's concerns with all political parties and work towards a broader consensus on issues affecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The governor also briefed Bilawal on the federal budget's proposed taxation measures relating to the merged tribal districts of the former FATA and PATA regions.

Bilawal said he would continue raising his voice for the rights of the people of FATA and PATA and would advocate for their concerns at all relevant forums.

The meeting also included discussions on the law and order situation and efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to party sources.
