Former president and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has proposed to the PDM leaders to fight the anti-democracy forces from within the Parliament, reported 24NewsHD TV channel, quoting sources.

Addressing the PDM summit meeting in Islamabad via video link, a blunt Zardari demanded Nawaz Sharif return to Pakistan. “If you all want to take on the government then you all have to go to jail,” he told the PDM leaders.

Rejecting the option of resignations, Zardari said “Quitting assemblies now will tantamount to strengthening the establishment and the Imran Khan.”

In the background of the Senate chairman election, he said “This is not the first time that the democratic forces have faced rigging. Please Mian Sahab, come back to Pakistan. We fought Senate elections but Ishaq Dar did not come to vote.”

He further said “I have spent 14 years of my life in jail and if we want to fight them we have to be ready to go to prison.”

Addressing Nawaz Sharif who was also in attendance via video link, Zardari said “When Shaheed Benazir Bhutto returned to the country in 1986 and 2007, the PPP mobilized the whole country and we have to plan on the same lines for the long march.”

Maryam reply to Zardari

Replying to Asif Ali Zardari, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif was unwell and his life could be in danger if he opts to return to Pakistan.

Maryam Nawaz asked the former President and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari to give guarantee that her father’s life would not be in any danger on his return home.

She said her father suffered two heart attacks in jail and how he could come back to the country in such condition.
