PML-N has demanded of the Election Commission of Pakistan to take action against Prime Minister Imran Khan for holding public rallies in violation of Election Act, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb called upon the ECP to take action against Prime Minister Khan who was holding public meetings in clear violation of the country’s law and constitution.

“Prime minister does not respect law. The non-compliance of the ECP order is a crime. The election commission must punish Imran Sahib,” she added.

Ms Aurangzeb urged that the action against premier should be taken under Sections 181, 233 and 234 of the Election Act. PM Khan should be punished for using state resources, she said adding a violator of law and constitution, attacker on parliament, mover of civil disobedience and one who burned electricity bill must be held accountable under Sec 233 of Election Act, 2017.

She said that today Imran was standing alone. She asked him to tell the public in his Swat rally today bout his illegal foreign funding and money laundering through his personal servants.

Saidu Sharif, other roads closed in Swat due to PTI rally

Meanwhile, the KP administration has closed Saidu Sharif Road due to Imran Khan’s rally. Commuters especially those who want to go to the Saidu Sharif Hospital are facing difficulties. They are being dropped off several kilometers away and they could be seen walking towards the hospital.

In a picture that went viral on social media, some people could be seen holding Charpoys on their shoulders on which their patients were lying.

All roads leading to meeting venue have been closed for traffic.

The administration has announced holiday in Jehanzeb College and other nearby educational institutions.

The ECP yesterday again barred Prime Minister Imran Khan to take part in Swat public rally scheduled to be held today.

The ECP said no public office holder could participate in public meetings due to local government elections.

However, despite ECP warning, Prime Minister is participating in the rally.
