Four cases registered against PTI for vandalism, inciting violence

Four cases have been registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Lahore over damaging public property and inciting violence against the government and law-enforcement agencies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

According to police, the provisions of hooliganism and setting public property on fire were included in the cases.

The first case was registered on the complaint of the sector in-charge of Lahore traffic police for setting police motorcycles and official record on fire.

“At the instigation of the PTI leadership, 300 workers set the sector office of traffic police on Mall Road, Lahore on fire,” the text of the first information report (FIR) read.

The provisions of damaging public vehicles, causing traffic jams and spreading terror were included in the FIR.

“We reached Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park with his arrest warrants. Around 2,500 workers threw petrol bombs at police at the behest of Imran Khan. The workers also threw stones at policemen and beat them with sticks on the orders of their leadership,” it added.

The second case was registered for vandalising an Elite Force vehicle and snatching a bulletproof jacket from a police official.

“The PTI workers subjected Elite Police official Asif to torture. They also snatched a bulletproof jacket from police official Waheed,” the text of the FIR read.

The third case was filed at Race Course police station. The provisions of terrorism, damage to public property, causing traffic jams and spreading terror were included in the case.

“The PTI workers pelted policemen with stones and beat them with sticks on the orders of the leadership,” the text of the FIR read.

“DIG Shahzad Bukhari and other police officers were injured in the attack by the PTI workers. Station House Officers (SHOs) Imran Qamar, Shoaib Khan, Mohammad Nadeem Tahir, Shabir Awan, and Ashfaq Khan were also injured. The PTI leadership incited violence against the government and law enforcement agencies,” it added.
