Pakistani comedian and stage actor Naseem Vicky appeared in a podcast with Hafiz Ahmed where he heaped praise on India comedian Kapil Sharma and spoke very highly about Indian industry while disparaging Pakistani talent.

Praising Kapil Sharma, he said: “Kapil Sharma is like my younger brother. He first met me as a fan. He expressed great admiration for me and claimed to have used all of my punchlines. We had a lunch together where I decided to write comedy with Indian writers, and I was paid for that writing. Pakistan does not have a single performer like Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover.”

He further heaped praise on Indian industry and said Pakistani media industry is nothing in comparison with Indian media industry and that Pakistan lacks a recipe for making shows like Kapil Sharma.

Following these remarks, Naseem Vicky was criticised for overpraising the Indian industry and failing to acknowledge Pakistani talent who have fostered Pakistani humour and who have been performing despite limited resources.

Many users were of the view that he was unaware of Pakistan’s legendary figures, such as Umar Sharif, Moin Akhtar Munawar Zaruf, Amanullah, and others. Some users claimed that he wants a job on The Kapil Sharma Show.
