Govt to convene in-camera Parliamentary NSC meeting this week
Top military and parliamentary parties' leadership and ministers to brief on rising terrorism in KP, Balochistan: Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to chair the meeting:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif started consultation on convening a parliamentary National Security Committee meeting this week, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to sources, a closed-door meeting of the National Security Committee of Parliament is expected on Wednesday or Thursday.
Sources said top military leadership and heads of security agencies will also attend the meeting.
The entire House will be converted into a security committee, sources said.
Leaders of all parliamentary parties, including federal ministers, will be invited.
The top military leadership will give a briefing on the growing causes of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Questions from members will also be answered in the meeting. The future strategy will also be approved in the parliamentary committee.
Bilawal Bhutto's proposal for National Action Plan II will also be reviewed.
Decisions will be made to accelerate operations against terrorists in light of the decision of the parliament.
The implementation of the National Action Plan will also be reviewed.
The meeting will be chaired by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also attend.
