Meghan Markle’s ‘With Love, Meghan’ slammed as ‘Third-Rate TV’

Meghan Markle’s Netflix series With Love, Meghan has been hit with harsh criticism, with one review branding it a “third-rate piece of TV.”

In a scathing critique published in The Times, columnist Caitlin Moran dissected the show’s shortcomings, arguing that it fails to deliver the high-end, aspirational lifestyle it aims for.

“For something that’s supposed to be about aspirational fantasy—seamless, covetable perfection—it’s a third-rate piece of TV,” Moran wrote. She pointed out production flaws, including “jarring” music choices and the fact that the show was filmed “not in Harry and Meghan’s house but in one hired from a friend.”

The review also highlighted awkward editing moments, suggesting that Markle’s production company, Archewell, may have struggled to refine the final product. Moran added, “When Meghan says something awkward, they have to leave it in as they just don’t have enough footage to edit it out.”

Moran further speculated that Markle’s heavy involvement in the production stems from a need for control, calling it “desperation.” She remarked on the Duchess’s intense media scrutiny, noting, “Between March 1 and March 11 alone, there were an astonishing 111 stories about her on MailOnline—only one of which was positive.”

Despite its critical reception, With Love, Meghan initially gained traction on Netflix’s Top 10 chart, though many speculate that hate-watching played a significant role in its success. Whether the show can sustain its audience amid ongoing criticism remains to be seen.
