Solar panel prices drop as govt revises net metering policy
On-grid solar system prices slashed by up to Rs175,000: Hybrid solar systems to require additional battery costs

Following federal government amendments in the net metering policy, solar panel prices have started to decline, with a Rs2 per watt reduction, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the report, the cost of installing solar systems has dropped by Rs 35,000 to Rs 175,000, significantly benefiting consumers looking to switch to renewable energy.
As per the new rates:
5kW system now costs Rs550,000
7kW system is priced at Rs625,000
10kW system is available for Rs850,000
12kW system costs Rs978,000
15kW system is set at Rs1,150,000
These prices apply to on-grid systems, whereas hybrid systems will require additional battery costs.
