The office of Attorney General of Pakistan ( AGP) has rejected the report of a Lahore High Court (LHC) order to release Sadat Amin, a suspected child pornography racketeer.
In a statement on Saturday, the AGP stated: “The news of the release of Sadat Amin, accused of being involved in pornography, Sadat Amin by the Lahore High Court on May 14, 2020 are circulating. However the suspect has not been released. The court has not passed the orders.”
The statement cited the LHC assistant registrar as saying: “Hearing on Sadat bail plea will be held on May 19.”
The federal government will oppose the release of such a convict, it is reported. A couple of days ago, the media aired the story of court orders to let Sadat walk free. The 48-year-old suspect, serving sentence in Kot Lakhpat Jail, approached the LHC against the sentence.
