Eid holidays announced in Pakistan

The federal government and Punjab government announced holidays for Eidul Fitr on Saturday.

The Interior Ministry on Saturday notified six Eid holidays, from May 22 to May 27. All federal government offices will remain closed from May 22, which happens to be Jumatul Wida, to May 27. 

Similarly, the Punjab government announced Eid holidays from May 22 to May 27.

According to a notification issued by the provincial government, all public and private offices, parks and markets will remain closed in the province during Eid holidays.

Earlier, reports were circulating in the media that the government is all set to announce nine holidays for Eidul Fitr, however, the official notification put all these rumours to rest.
