Pakistan conducts highest number of Covid-19 tests in single day

Pakistan has conducted over 14,878 tests in the past 24 hours which is the highest number of assessments made to diagnose COVID-19 patients.
This was stated during a meeting of National Command and Operation Centre held in Islamabad today with Planning Minister Asad Umar in the chair, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday. Minister Planning and Development expressed satisfaction over the enhancement of testing capacity that has witnessed 30 times increase with a rise from 2 labs in mid-March to 70 labs till date.
The Minister said people of Pakistan can't be left on the mercy of pandemic and we will move every single resource available to mitigate the challenges of common people. The total coronavirus cases increased to 38,799 with the addition of another 1,581 people contracting the virus, as 31 more deaths were also reported in Pakistan during the past 24 hours.
National Command and Operation Centre, there are 27,085 active cases in the country as 10,880 patients have so far fully recovered from the infection.
The most number of cases are reported in Sindh where the total currently stands at 14,916. It is followed by 14,201 in Punjab, 5,678 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,457 in Balochistan, 921 in Islamabad, 518 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 108 in Azad Kashmir.
