PIA special flight brings back stranded Pakistanis from Iraq

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) special flight PK-710 reached at Islamabad International Airport on Saturday bringing back over 250 stranded Pakistani nationals from Iraq.

24NewsHD TV channel reported that these stranded Pakistanis were working in the oil and gas sector in Iraq and were facing difficulties for last many weeks amid the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.

As per the Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) SOPs, airport authorities screened the passengers about possible flu or fever-like symptoms of coronavirus. All the passengers have been shifted to the Sohawa and Jhelum quarantine centres.

The CAA on Friday also issued standard operating procedures for domestic flights.

The air carrier operation shall be subject to full compliance of PCAA instructions regarding air carrier disinfection and passenger and crew protection measures.
