The import bill of petroleum products after registering a record 94 per cent increase in the month of April has reached an astounding $17.03 billion, the highest in the history, within 10 months.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the national economy is faced with another difficulty with increase in the prices of Arab Light Crude Oil by 72 per cent.
Moreover, the import volume of petroleum products has also increased by 68 per cent.
It is to be noted here that the new coalition government has been struggling very hard to maintain subsidy on the prices of petroleum products under bad economic circumstances amid depleting foreign exchange reserves due to the unprecedented flight of dollar.
