CJP Justice Yahya Afridi visits PHC Bannu Bench, stresses revival of model criminal courts

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi visits Peshawar High Court Bannu Bench and lauded the services of judges working in difficult conditions, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

According to an official statement of the apex court, Chief Justice of Pakistan also met Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Atiq Shah and held detailed discussion on capacity building of judiciary and lawyers. The meeting also weighed the points of the national judicial policy-making committee. 

Chief Justice of Pakistan on the occasion stressed the revival of model criminal courts as well as provision of funds in backward areas. 

“Independence and protection of judiciary is essential for delivery of justice”, Chief Justice Yahya Afridi observed. 

The Chief Justice also visited Bannu Jail and listened to the problems of the prisoners. He expressed concern over pending cases. Chief Justice Yahya Afridi also inaugurated the Anti-Narcotics Center in Bannu.
