PM approves new policy for information officers' posting abroad

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a new policy for posting of Information Group officers abroad, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.

Under the new policy, sources say, the condition of an exam for Information Group officers for posting abroad has been abolished. Now information group officers will be appointed to vacant posts at Pakistani embassies on the basis of their interviews. The federal information minister will head the interviews board, which will also feature an expert from the private sector.

Currently, a number of posts of press counselor and press attaché are vacant at Pakistani embassies in Washington, Moscow, Berlin, Dhaka, Ankara and many other world capitals.
