Police seize cocaine worth $11 million in Paris raid

Police seized 435 kilogrammes (960 pounds) of cocaine with a street value of more than 10 million euros ($11.2 million) in a Paris raid, prosecutors and media reports said on Thursday.
The raid on a building basement in eastern Paris produced one of France's biggest hauls of the drug of recent years. More than 53 tonnes of cocaine was seized across France in 2024, more than double the amount from the previous year, according to interior ministry figures.
Le Parisien newspaper said the drugs seized this week had been transported from the southern port of Marseille and that several suspects had been detained.
