Teenage boy’s murder mystery solved in Manga Mandi, friend arrested

Lahore police on Saturday claimed to have solved the murder case of a 14-year-old boy found dead in Lahore’s Manga Mandi area, arresting the victim’s friend who allegedly confessed to the killing during initial interrogation, 24NewsHD TV reported.

According to police, the body of the teenager, identified as Saqib Ali, was recovered from the jurisdiction of Manga Mandi Police Station.

Authorities said the victim’s throat had been slit.

A spokesperson for the DIG Operations office said police arrested the suspect, identified as Abdul Rehman, within hours of the incident after tracing him through evidence and CCTV footage.

Police said the footage showed the suspect accompanying the victim shortly before the murder.

According to the spokesperson, the suspect allegedly told investigators that a dispute arose between the two over an alleged sexual act, after which he attacked the victim.

Investigators said the suspect allegedly first injured the teenager with a blade and later strangled him using a cord-like object.

A case, registered under FIR No. 936/26, was lodged on the complaint of the victim’s father, Arif.
