214 dengue cases, one death reported from Lahore

The dengue virus continues to threaten people’s health in the provincial capital, Lahore, and other parts of Punjab as 214 more cases of the virus were reported from the city during the past 24 hours besides one death, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
150 cases reported from KP; 241 people recovered:
150 more cases of the dengue virus were reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during the last 24 hours, thus taking the total number of patients in the province to 9, 492.
According to the KP health department, so far nine fatalities have been reported from the disease this season, while 75 people with dengue symptoms are presently admitted at the province’s hospitals. “Out of total 150 more cases reported, 120 were reported from the provincial capital, Peshawar alone, thus taking the total number of dengue patients in the city to 4,899,” the department elaborated.
Giving further details, the department said that nine new cases were reported from Haripur during the period under review. “At the same time, 241 people have also recovered from the disease in the province,” it added.
Dengue cases on decline in Islamabad:
The number of cases of the dengue virus in Islamabad and its suburbs are on a decline as 12 cases were reported during the last 24 hours.
According to the district health officer (DHO), presently there are 4, 364 patients of the virus in the federal capital and its outskirts.
The DHO added that out of total 12 fresh cases, seven were reported from the rural areas surrounding the capital, thus taking the total number of existing patients in these areas to 2, 487. “Five cases were detected in the city itself, thus taking the number of patients to 1, 877,” he elaborated.
