Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said Tuesday that the party had left the matter of an affidavit given by former top judge of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Supreme Court Rana Shamim against former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) to the judiciary, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the 24News after appearing in an Accountability Court (AC) in LNG Quota reference, he said he hoped that the Supreme Court (SC) would take suo moto notice of the affidavit.

He said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) would decide the date for beginning the long march towards Islamabad, and that he was not in a position to speculate on that.

And when 24News asked him whether the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government would complete its five-year term, former prime minister replied, “No matter whether Imran Khan is the prime minister for five days, five months or five years, he is a burden on the country.

PML-N leader said despite the fact that the LNG case filed against him had been sub judice for the last three years, still the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had failed to tell the court as to what was his crime. “We tolerated that. But the NAB chairman will not be able to tolerate that. Believe you me the chairman will be standing in a dock right in the court behind me,” he said, and added, “The extension granted to the chairman by virtue of an ordinance raises questions.”
