A fire broke out on the premises of Jinnah International Airport, 24NewsHD TV channel reported late Tuesday.

According to sources in Civil Aviation Authorities, the fire broke out in the shrubs around the runway.

Since the rains, the grass growing around the runway has not been cut, the sources said, adding that  two fire tenders of CAA are busy trying to extinguish the fire

Under international civil aviation rules, grass and bushes around the runway are illegal as fire can erupt and cause big damage.
