The municipal committee officials in Jhelum have cut down lush green trees ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Long March, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to the details, trees have been cut down in order to make a smooth and clear way for the PTI containers in Shandar Chowk of Jhelum.
Irony is that the trees were hacked down for the long march of the party that itself imitated the projects like ‘Billion Tree Tsunami.’
Meanwhile, Punjab Finance Department has released 50 million rupees to the police for guarding PTI’s long march.
According to details, the Finance Department has provided this grant to the police for security arrangements.
Moreover, the police will provide food and other facilities with this grant to the police officials who will be performing their duties during the long march.
The Finance Department has also transferred this grant to the account of the Inspector General (IG) of Police Office for this purpose.
