Sarfraz Ahmed handed key development roles in PCB restructuring
Former captain to oversee coaching staff, player development and team tours: Sarfraz to accompany squads during domestic camps and international series
Former Pakistan cricket captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been assigned new responsibilities within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to sources, Sarfaraz will now oversee the affairs of the Pakistan Shaheens and Pakistan Under-19 teams as part of a broader restructuring effort.
Sources said Sarfaraz has been appointed as the in-charge of both the Shaheens and the Under-19 sides, and his role will include supervising the coaching staff of the Shaheens and the Under-18 squads, as well as monitoring their domestic and international tours.
He will also be allowed to accompany these teams on tours whenever required.
Sarfaraz is expected to remain closely involved with the teams during training camps and series held in Pakistan, sources added.
His appointment marks one of the most significant roles handed to a former national captain within PCB’s high-performance structure.
