Petroleum levy up by Rs1.14 per litre 

The government has decided to increase petroleum levy by Rs1.14 per litre. 

The levy surged from Rs27.32 per litre to Rs28.46 per litre while the tax on high-speed diesel remained the same Rs30 per litre.

Sales tax is collected on petrol and high-speed diesel is set at Rs15.11 per litre and Rs15.12 per litre respectively.

The basic price of petrol was reduced from Rs51.50 per litre to Rs 50.39 per litre while the price of high-speed diesel cut from Rs52.05 per litre to Rs51.92 per litre.

The levies, taxes and duties being collected on petrol and high-speed diesel are Rs53.58 per litre and Rs54.14 per litre respectively.

Petrol prices could be decreased at 16th and a summary of petrol prices was forwarded by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority to the Petroleum Division for the purpose.
