Calling the women nation’s ‘lifeline’, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed on Saturday said he was surprised that despite the fact that women outnumbered men, still there were no hospitals in the country for the women-specific diseases, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing the ceremony held to mark the beginning of a Pink Ribbon campaign at Breast Cancer Hospital in Lahore, CJP Gulzar said that the constitution of Pakistan had guaranteed lots of rights to women. “Women should be given their all basic rights,” the CJP asserted.
He further said that deaths of thousands of women due to breast cancer was no small thing. “If women get medical facilities due to my presence, I will come again and again,” the CJP said.
The CJP along with his wife inaugurated the Pink Ribbon campaign at Breast Cancer Hospital.
