Vote First, Bride Later
A bridegroom along with his wedding party reached a polling station in Multan on Sunday to cast his vote in the by-election for NA-157, reports 24NewsHD TV channel.
What appeared to be a Vote First, Bride Later mission, groom Sikandar Ali Qureshi, a resident of Multan's Hafizwala neighbourhood, arrived at the polling place in Jilani Town in a decorated car and was delighted after casting his vote for the candidate of his choice.
Following the wedding procession's tardiness, his in-laws continued calling him on phone to rush up to the wedding hall.
The groom, in the meantime, speaking on this occasion said that voting is a national duty, therefore, he had come to vote first, later he would go to pick up his bride.
He continued by saying that even if the wedding procession is two hours late, he will exercise his democratic right to vote first.
