Nearly 13,000 security personnel guard SCO Summit

Nearly 13,000 personnel of different law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) performing security duty for the on-going Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Of the 12,674 personnel, 6,963 belonged to Islamabad Police, 1,500 to Frontier Constabulary (FC) and 2,000 personnel of Punjab Constabulary (PC) were assigned the security duty.

While 850 personnel of Sindh Police, 1,361 personnel of Pakistan Rangers were also performing security duty.

With regular helicopter sorties over Islamabad, 607 vehicles were assigned for security of VVIPs and 994 LEAs personnel already deployed on VVIP routes.

As many as 1,783 security personnel were deputed around the residences of VVIP personalities, while 400 security personnel were deployed at entry points leading to the Red Zone.

Around 451 personnel of Quick Response Force (QRF) with APCs were monitoring all the security posts established in the area.
