15 gypsies perish in truck crash on Swat Expressway

At least 15 gypsies were killed and eight others injured when a truck overturned in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Malakand Division in the wee hours of Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The accident happened near the third tunnel on the Swat Expressway where the truck carrying gypsies from Bahrain and Swat turned turtle and fell into a ditch, killing 15 people on the spot and injuring eight others.

Police and Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and injured to District Headquarters Hospital, Batkhela.

According to rescue personnel, the death toll is feared to go up as four of the injured were in critical condition.

The truck-riding gypsies were migrating to warmer areas ahead of the harsh winter season.
