20 teams confirmed for 10th edition of cricket's T20 Men's World Cup

All 20 teams have been confirmed for the 10th edition of cricket's T20 Men's World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka, as UAE claims the final spot by winning against Japan and securing top three finish in Asia/East Asia-Pacific  Qualifier in Oman.

The teams which will appear in the next edition of the T20 World cup, starting with defending champions and also the co-host nation, India and the other co-host nation Sri Lanka. 

The other seven nations have qualified on the basis of top 8 teams in the last T20 WC 2024 excluding the champions, these nations include, Australia, England, South Africa, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, USA and West Indies. The teams which have qualified through ICC rankings are Pakistan, New Zealand and Ireland. 

After these 12 teams, the other 8 teams were selected through regional qualifiers, including European Qualifiers, Africa Qualifiers, Americas Qualifier and Asia/East Asia-Pacific Qualifiers. Canada has qualified after comfortably winning the Americas Qualifier on home soil. They won six games out of six to finish top ahead of Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, and the Bahamas.

In European Qualifiers, the Netherlands and Italy qualified for the 2026 T20 World Cup after finishing as the top two teams in the European Qualifiers. This is the first time Italy have qualified for any World Cup in cricket.

In Africa Qualifiers, the Zimbabwe and Namibia sealed the spots for the T20 World Cup after reaching the final of the Africa Qualifiers. At last, in Asia/EAP Qualifiers, Nepal, Oman and UAE qualified by being the top three teams in the regional qualifiers to complete the list.
