District Education Officer (Elementary) Lahore has dismissed 25 teachers from job for continuous absenteeism, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

It was revealed that dozens of teachers in Lahore were taking salaries abroad or sitting at home. 

Four teachers were fined heavily and one was given warning while Sadia Mushtaq's one-year increment and Fahad Shahzad's five-year increment were withheld.

Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Ajmal, Muhammad Anwar and Shaukat Ali were censured and eight teachers were given the opportunity to work after inquiry.

An inquiry was conducted for 44 teachers in Lahore for continuous absenteeism. 

The teachers dismissed from job include Muhammad Farooq, Ahmed Yousaf, Hafiz Altaf, Azor Bashir, Shamaila Azam, Muhammad Ikram, Ali Hassan, Sadia Yousaf, Amir Abbas, Rehan Ahmed, Samreen Akbar, Sahar Bashir, Mehboob-ul-Hassan and Muhammad Waqas Sajid.
