Sharjeel Memon declines to speak about Maryam Nawaz

Sindh’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Sharjeel Inam Memon, on Thursday declined to make any remarks about Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz during a media interaction outside Sukkur Airport, citing a mutual understanding between the ruling coalition partners.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, responding to journalists’ questions regarding Punjab ministers' criticism, Sharjeel Memon stated firmly, “I will not speak about Maryam Nawaz.”

He added that a political understanding had recently been reached between the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) regarding public statements.

Sharjeel Memon explained that the leadership of both coalition parties had agreed not to issue any critical statements against one another.

"A meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and a PML-N delegation took place in Nawabshah, during which it was agreed to avoid giving statements against each other," Memon said.

It is pertinent to mention here that the political truce was the outcome of a significant meeting held on October 8, 2025, where a PML-N delegation, comprising Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, and Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, met President Asif Ali Zardari in Nawabshah.

The PML-N leaders reportedly discussed the growing tension and public discord between the two main parties in Pakistan’s ruling coalition.
