Police Wednesday claimed to have nailed the wife of Motorway rape prime suspect Abid. Sources said the arrested is named as Bushra Bibi, a resident of Tandianwala tehsil of Faisalabad district. It is her second marriage and they had a daughter, the sources said, adding that she had four children from her ex. Police say Bushra is being grilled in connection with the case.
Amid fury over the gang rape last week, police arrested 15 men but said none of them was directly involved in the rape. Officers have since named two primary suspects as Shafqat Ali and Abid. Shafqat was taken into custody on Monday, with police saying his DNA has matched samples found at the scene, and he has confessed.
Police also named a third suspect, though he has claimed he was wrongly named because a friend was using his phone sim card at the time of the attack. Shafqat Ali was taken into custody during a police raid on his home village in Punjab and Chief Minister Uzman Buzdar said raids were underway to catch Abid.
