Drug baron Ibrahim Koko deported to Myanmar, ministry tells IHC

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday disposed of a case regarding the deportation of Myanmar drug baron, Ibrahim Koko, after being informed by the interior ministry that the accused had been deported to Myanmar in August last, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Ibrahim Koko was a citizen of Myanmar, and he had been in jail for five years despite completing his sentence in Pakistan.
The IHC had ordered the authorities concerned to ensure deportation of the accused to his country by September 16.
The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Friday submitted the implementation report to the court.
“Ibrahim Koko’s Myanmarese citizenship had been confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” the report of the interior ministry said.
“Ibrahim Koko was deported to his country after his citizenship was confirmed. The Myanmarese embassy arranged Koko’s travel documents, and he was deported from Islamabad to Myanmar on August 10 last,” it added.
At this, the IHC disposed of the case regarding Koko’s deportation to his country. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the case, and Deputy Attorney General Mian Faisal Advocate appeared before the court on behalf of the federal government.
