Flood death toll in Balochistan rises to 299: PDMA

With five more deaths reported from Balochistan during the last 24 hours, the death toll in the province due to rains and floods has reached 299, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the statistics released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), over 500, 000 cattle have also been killed in the province.  

The statistics further reveal that out of total 185, 000 homes affected by the natural disaster, 65, 000 have been completely destroyed. 

Similarly, agricultural fields spreading over 900, 000 of land have also been affected. 

Over 200, 000 solar plates and tube-wells have also been damaged, discloses the PDMA.    

It has been further revealed that 103 dams and over 1, 500 kilometers long roads have also been damaged. 

The Authority says that Naseerabad division and Mach district are worst-affected where people are falling prey to malaria and other contagious diseases.   

Turkish child donates 50 Liras for Pakistan flood victims

A Turkish child, moved by scenes of death and destruction from recent unprecedented rains and floods in large swathes of Pakistan, has donated 50 Liras to the relief fund set up for the flood-affected people of the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

In a letter to Pakistan’s ambassador in his country, he has expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the loss of life and property in worst floods in the country’s history. 

“I strongly feel their pain. All my prayers are with these flood victims. My mother recites verses of the holy Quran all day for these people. I had saved 50 Liras for my school’s study tour which I am sending to you for depositing them in the relief fund,” he wrote.
