Punjab Chief Secretary (CS) Kamran Ali Afzal went on a 14-day leave on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Abdullah Sumbal was given the additional charge of the chief secretary. 

Transfers, postings in Punjab govt: 

In yet another development, Additional Secretary Higher Education Department Khalid Pervaiz was transferred and made officer on special duty (OSD) while Maria Tariq was appointed in his place instead. 

Similarly, Rashid Irshad was posted as additional secretary local bodies’ department.
