Authorities have tightened the noose around the elements involved in creating an artificial shortage of dollars in the country, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

Sensitive institutions are in action to swoop down on the persons involved in the illegal transfer of dollars abroad and the profiteers.

The development took place at a time when the rupee value against the dollar decreases historically.  

The campaign to trace such culprits has been stepped up and the lawmen have enhanced the surveillance at the airports. 

The businessmen and industrialists have welcomed the swoop, promising all-out support to the authorities to nail the anti-state elements.

The country's economic situation will improve and the step will help remove the sense of economic uncertainty, they said, they will fully support the action.

Noted rep of business community Mian Nauman Kabir has highly appreciated the move, saying the elements who stockpile the dollars even in times of economic crisis do not deserve any leniency.
