Caretaker govt makes record-breaking hike in oil prices

The caretaker government has made a record-breaking increase in the prices of petroleum products, the 24NewsHD TV channel reports.

According to the notification, the price of petrol has gone up by Rs 26.2 per litre and diesel by Rs17. 34 per litre.

The new price of petrol is Rs331.38 and diesel Rs 329.18.

The government cited the surge in the oil prices in the international market as the reason for the hike.
