Large-scale manufacturing output rises 3.03pc in July 2026
Pakistan’s large-scale manufacturing sector recorded growth at the beginning of the new fiscal year, with major industries posting increases on both monthly and annual bases in July 2026, reported 24NewsHD TV.
According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), large-scale manufacturing output increased by 9.51 percent month-on-month in July 2026.
On a year-on-year basis, large-scale manufacturing production rose by 3.03 percent during the month. The automobile sector recorded the strongest growth, with production increasing by 57 percent year-on-year in July.
According to the PBS data, production of transport equipment increased by 40.22 percent, while tobacco production posted a year-on-year increase of 35.82 percent. The wearing apparel sector also recorded significant growth, with production rising by 22 percent compared with July last year.
However, several major sectors recorded declines during the month. Pharmaceutical production fell by 20.79 percent year-on-year, while production of machinery and equipment declined by 13.33 percent.
Production of iron and steel products decreased by 11.40 percent, while chemical products recorded an 8.96 percent decline.
