Petroleum levy: Fourth round of talks between govt and JI underway
The fourth round of negotiations between the government and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on the elimination of the petroleum levy has begun at Punjab House, reported 24NewsHD TV.
A JI delegation, led by party's Vice Emir Liaquat Baloch, reached Punjab House to participate in the talks.
The JI negotiating team includes Syed Farasat Shah, Nasrullah Randhawa, Inayatullah Khan, Ziauddin Ansari Advocate and Naveed Ali Baig.
The government delegation is being led by Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, with Rana Sanaullah, Ali Pervaiz Malik and Bilal Azhar Kayani also part of the team.
The negotiations between the government and JI over the elimination of the petroleum levy began on September 7.
JI has announced a march towards Islamabad on September 20 if the petroleum levy is not abolished.
