Man roughed up in torture cell at Islamabad police station

A video clip has surfaced on internet in which two policemen in civilian clothes can be seen torturing a citizen in Khanna police station of Islamabad, exposing the crooked colonial remnants of “Thana Culture”, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday. 

The 24News TV channel has obtained the footage of torture cell where the citizen was being roughed up by police officials. 

The video shows police personnel torturing the citizen inside the police station and it also clearly captures the screams of the accused who was tortured. But, the concerned SHO and other officers turned deaf ears. 

The people of the area claimed that despite the installation of billions of rupees worth of Safe City Project cameras, the officials remained ignorant of the internal conditions of police stations in the federal capital. 

They said that that torturing prisoners in the torture cell is extremely usual at this police station. Several footages have previously surfaced in the capital city but nobody took notice of them.
