Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s statue vandalized again at Lahore Fort

A man allegedly vandalized the life-size statue of Punjabi leader Maharaja Ranjit Singh placed outside the Sikh Gallery at Lahore Fort, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In the latest update, a statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh was vandalized once again with a hammer. This time the attacker broke the arms and leg of the statue.
The people around swiftly apprehended the person name Rizwan involved in creating the scene at the statue and handed him over to the Lahore Police.

It is pertinent to note that the statue was placed outside the Haveli of Rani Jindan which is now called the Sikh Gallery at the Lahore Fort.
A life-size sculpture of Ranjit Singh was unveiled on June 27, 2019 on the eve of the 180th death anniversary of Ranjit Singh.
Capital City Police Office CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar said the accused has been arrested for attacking Ranjit Singh statute and strict legal action would be taken against the accused.
The CCPO also directed the SP City to immediately visit the site.
