Barrister Asad Rasool, a relative of PTI leader Shehbaz Gill, who is currently in Adiala Jail on account of his anti-Pakistan Army remarks, has written a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Umar Ata Bandial in which he has appealed him to take notice of police’s torture on Gill, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Gill had made some objectionable remarks during a talk show on a private news channel around 10 days ago following which the Islamabad police arrested him from the limits of Banigala police station on August 9, 2022.
Sources said that the Islamabad police had registered a case against Gill under the sections relating to the use of derogatory remarks against a supreme state institution.
He was taken into custody from outside Imran Khan’s residence at Banigala Chowk of the federal capital.
The Islamabad police after arresting the PTI leader shifted him to an unknown place.
