Saim Ayub retains top spot in ICC rankings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday released its latest players’ rankings, with several notable movements across formats, including strong representation from Pakistan, India, and Australia.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Pakistan’s Saim Ayub retained his top position in the all-rounders’ rankings, continuing an impressive run that has underlined his growing stature in international cricket. 

In the T20I bowlers’ rankings, India’s Varun Chakravarthy remained number one with a career-best rating of 818.

New Zealand pacer Jacob Duffy held on to second place, while India’s Arshdeep Singh climbed four spots to reach 16th position following consistent recent performances. 

Among South African bowlers, Marco Jansen rose to 25th place, Lungi Ngidi to 44th, and Bartman to 68th.

India also strengthened its presence in the T20I batters’ rankings, with two players featuring in the top five. 

Tilak Varma moved up two places to claim fourth position, while Abhishek Sharma retained his place at the top of the rankings. Shivam Dube also made progress, climbing two spots to reach 16th.

In Test cricket, Australia’s Mitchell Starc achieved a career milestone by moving to a career-best second position in the bowlers’ rankings, reflecting his sustained impact in the longest format of the game.
