Man kills youth for ‘honour’ in Raiwind

A man shot dead another young man for having illicit relations with his sister in Raiwind area near Lahore, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Soon after the incident, local police reached the crime scene and started collecting evidence from the spot.

The accused, Faizan, escaped from the scene after committing the murder of Tayyab.

Later the dead body of the deceased was dispatched to local hospital for post-mortem. Police after registering a case of murder against accused started investigation.

Efforts were underway to apprehend the culprit.

A spate of deaths of women in Pakistan has put the spotlight on so-called honor killings in the South Asian country.

Each year, hundreds of women and girls are killed in Pakistan, often by relatives who say they are protecting the family's honor.

Despite stricter laws and public outrage in the Muslim-majority country, human rights groups say such killings continue.
