PTI leaders booked in Red Zone rioting case; 4 lawmakers arrested

A case has been registered against several leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over alleged rioting in the Red Zone, with law enforcement authorities confirming multiple arrests.

According to police sources, the Secretariat Police Station has arrested two Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) and four Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) named in the case.

The arrested MNAs include Shafqat Awan and Umar Aslam. The detained MPAs have been identified as Rafat Shah, Sarfaraz Dogar, Malik Asad and Tayyab Rashid.

Police said a case has been registered against the accused under 11 different sections, including terrorism and attempt to murder.

The suspects have been accused of rioting, opening fire at police personnel, snatching weapons and issuing threats of serious consequences. The FIR alleges that the accused damaged government vehicles and created an atmosphere of fear in the area.
