Blast occurs outside house of JI Bajaur Naib Ameer

A blast occurred outside the house of Naib Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Bajaur Maulana Waheed Gul, who was also a candidate for a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly seat, on Saturday morning; however, no one died in the incident, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Police said partial damage was caused to Gul’s house and a car.

Heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot as panic and fear spread in the area following the blast.

DPO Waqas Rafiq said that as per initial investigation, improvised explosive device (IED) was used in the attack.

A week ago, a senior Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader succumbed to his injuries after being critically wounded in a bomb blast near a seminary in Wana.

Police said on Friday that a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) was planted in the Konra Cheena area near a religious seminary to target Maulana Sultan Muhammad Wazir, who was also the district president of Wafaqul Madaris al Arabia.

He was immediately taken to Dera Ismail Khan for medical treatment but breathed his last on the way.
