World Bank links funds release to reforms introduction in Punjab
The World Bank (WB) has linked the release of funds to the performance of the recipient of these funds, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to details, the WB will not release a penny from the financial year, 2026 to 2035 unless a recipient will introduce reforms.
Meanwhile, the framework of 10-year plan, the Punjab government and the bank are going to agree on has been prepared.
Under the plan, the bank in the next 10 years will get implemented in the province projects worth $80 billion.
Following the approval of the framework, the government of Punjab will initiate mega projects.
Out of these $80 billion, $20 billion will be spent on government and governance and an equal amount of money will be spent on the private sector.
The provincial government officials have said that billions of dollars will also be spent on the children suffering from malnutrition, their education and environment.
They have informed that the business plan will be implemented every two years.
The framework that will last until 2035 will also create job opportunities in Punjab.
