Era heading towards war

President Trump's greatest desire is to win the Nobel Prize. He might even receive it, as controversial figures have been awarded in the past. However, his own agenda of making America the sole superpower has become an obstacle for him. He wants to use America's military and economic might to force the world into submission where wars start and cease at his command. Standing against America's overwhelming power is not easy, but it is also impossible for the entire world to bow down.

To claim the Nobel Peace Prize, Trump has boasted about brokering ceasefires, including between Pakistan and India, while the genocide of Muslims in Gaza continues. In the Iran-Israel conflict, America jumped in directly, declared a ceasefire after a major operation, and took credit for it. Trump also attempted to mediate in the Russia-Ukraine war, believing Russia was stuck in a prolonged conflict and that Ukraine, backed by the U.S. and Europe, was inflicting heavy losses on Russia. He thought both sides would seize the opportunity for a deal if America stepped in as a mediator. However, his hopes were dashed when President Putin outright refused to participate in any mediation talks and remained steadfast in continuing the war.

The Trump administration has already strained relations with its European allies over tariffs and defense spending. Yet, to humiliate Russia, they collectively supported Ukraine. Ukraine succeeded in carrying out significant operations inside Russia, but Putin remained unmoved. Frustrated, Trump openly declared full support for Ukraine, effectively making America a direct party to the conflict. Ukraine will receive advanced weapons, including Patriot missile systems, funded by European nations. European countries are already fearful that if Russia wins, they will be in danger.

North Korea has already been providing direct military support to Russia, and Kim Jong-un has announced further shipments of troops and weapons. As the only country on Earth armed with nuclear weapons that even America fears, North Korea possesses long-range missiles capable of striking the U.S. The bigger threat is Kim Jong-un himself no one can predict how far he might go if war breaks out.  

Another development troubling America is Taiwan. Recently, China not only delivered a crushing response in the trade war but also showcased its military prowess in the Pakistan-India conflict, leaving everyone stunned. China has now made it clear that it will not accept Russia's defeat in Ukraine. While China has long maintained a tough stance against America on various issues, this is the first time its military posture has turned aggressive.  

In recent months, China has deployed three aircraft carrier battle groups, multiple spy and fighter jets, and naval fleets in the South China Sea, signaling its expansionist ambitions. These advanced nuclear and conventional weapon equipped forces have conducted large scale drills, alarming America and its allies. There is no sign of China withdrawing its forces, and tensions over Russia, Ukraine and Taiwan could escalate dangerously at any moment.

Meanwhile, India violated Myanmar’s sovereignty by launching a drone strike on a rebel group in Assam using 150 Israeli drones, killing three commanders and 20 members. Myanmar has called on the international community to take notice. India’s actions reveal expansionist ambitions that could plunge the region into another war.

The third major threat is America and Israel’s intentions regarding Iran. After Trump, Netanyahu meetings, no official statement was released deliberately to maintain ambiguity. Iranian officials repeatedly state they are ready for talks but demand a US guarantee against attack first. Ironically, no one can trust Trump’s guarantees he once gave Iran 15 days’ notice but attacked the very next day.  

Benjamin Netanyahu, in an interview with American TV, laid out three conditions for any deal with Iran: halt uranium enrichment, restrict ballistic missiles to under 300 miles, and abandon the "axis of terror." The question now is what steps America and Israel will take to enforce this plan. Meanwhile, Russia has advised Iran against uranium enrichment, while China supports placing Iran’s nuclear activities under strict IAEA supervision. Iran has few options left.  

In these circumstances, Pakistan must remain extra vigilant, especially if Afghanistan accepts Russia’s offer for a joint defence pact, which would directly impact regional power dynamics.  

As these lines are being written, reports indicate Israel has launched massive airstrikes on Damascus to overthrow President Ahmad al-Shara’s government. Syria’s weapons, aircraft, and naval assets were already destroyed by Bashar al Assad before fleeing, with locations provided to Israel. In this scenario, only Turkey can militarily assist Syria and if that happens, the war could expand on a large scale.
